Twenty-two representatives from WWF Indonesia and the Global WWF network visited the Eigu Nature area in Mount Gede Pangrango to directly observe restoration and conservation activities. During the visit, WWF Indonesia assessed that the management of the area—which integrates restoration, conservation, environmental education, and community empowerment—is progressing well.

The President Director of Eiger Nature, Imanuel Wirajaya, stated that the visit was organised ahead of the area’s opening to the public. The activities included a guided site tour to observe regional developments, ranging from the restoration of critical lands in the PTPN I Regional 2 area to conservation efforts within the Utilisation Zone of the Mount Gede Pangrango National Park (TNGGP).

According to Imanuel, the visit also served as an opportunity to gather feedback regarding the facilities and visitor experiences currently under development.

“In this initial phase, we want to be open to learning, listening, and growing together. We believe that presenting initiatives that truly benefit nature and society requires collaboration and perspectives from many parties,” Imanuel said in a press release on Saturday (19/09/2026).

Eiger Nature is also collaborating with the Mount Gede Pangrango National Park Authority (TNGGP) in areas of conservation, environmental education, and the responsible use of the area.

CEO of WWF Indonesia, Aditya Bayunanda, noted that the private sector can play a vital role in protecting nature while simultaneously providing benefits to local communities. He suggested that models involving the government, local communities, and conservation organisations have the potential to support conservation financing, including within national park areas.

Aditya added that this approach aligns with the work of the task force for innovative financing for National Parks and Iconic Species, which seeks new and sustainable funding sources for Indonesia’s conservation areas.
