Wuling Motors has introduced its Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) technology at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, presenting two new models: the Darion PHEV and the Eksion PHEV. Danang Wiratmoko, Product Communication Manager of Wuling Motors, stated that the vehicles combine various Driving Modes and Energy Modes to support daily mobility with electric power while providing peace of mind for long-distance journeys. The PHEV system offers three Driving Modes—Eco, Normal, and Sport—which can be adjusted to suit the vehicle’s requirements. Additionally, drivers can select from four Energy Modes, namely EV Max, EV First, Hybrid, and Fuel Priority, to manage the priority of electric or petrol engine usage according to travel needs. Beyond efficient consumption technology, both environmentally friendly models are equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) safety features to enhance driving safety. The vehicles also incorporate the Wonder Flexible Modular System (WFMS), Magic Battery Pro, and the Ling OS connectivity system, which supports MyWuling+ services and voice commands in both Indonesian and English. The arrival of the Darion PHEV in the MPV segment and the Eksion PHEV in the SUV segment expands the range of electrified vehicle options in the Indonesian market. PHEV technology serves as a transitional alternative towards full electric vehicles by offering electric driving capability while retaining the flexibility of a petrol engine for long-distance mobility.
