Wuling Launches Aira EV at GIIAS 2026, Reinforcing Commitment to Indonesia's Electric Vehicle Industry
Wuling Motors has once again participated in the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 under the theme ‘Wuling Built in Indonesia For You’. Located at Booth 9A, Hall 9, ICE BSD City, Wuling is presenting various innovations, flagship product lines, and interactive experiences for visitors as a demonstration of its commitment to supporting the development of the EV industry in Indonesia.
On this occasion, Wuling also introduced the Aira ev, its newest product line designed to meet the evolving needs of Indonesian society for an EV city car. “On behalf of Wuling Motors, we would like to thank everyone who has been part of Wuling’s journey over nine years in Indonesia. Thanks to that support, both globally and in Indonesia, Wuling has succeeded in establishing its position as the No.1 Global Small Electric Vehicle Brand. This achievement motivates us to continue delivering innovations relevant to the mobility needs of the Indonesian people,” said Vice President of Wuling Motors, Arif Pramadana.
In line with this achievement, the growth of electric vehicles in Indonesia continues to show a positive trend, accompanied by changing public expectations of an electric city car.
As of June 2026, the electric vehicle population in Indonesia has surpassed 236,000 units, contributing 16% to the total national automotive market. Meanwhile, electric vehicles have become the largest contributor to the city car market with a 51% share. This development further strengthens Wuling’s optimism to continue delivering electric mobility solutions relevant to the needs of Indonesian society.
In response to market developments, Wuling has also observed changing consumer expectations of an electric city car. Today, people want an electric vehicle that is not only practical, but also offers a more spacious cabin, modern features, fast charging capability, and a four-door design providing easier access for all passengers.
Aligned with developments in the Indonesian market, Wuling is committed to delivering various innovations and has been trusted by Indonesian consumers for nine years. This commitment is realised through the Aira ev, which carries four main characteristics — Artistic, Innovative, Friendly, and Safe — as a manifestation of Wuling’s commitment to delivering an electric city car that matches the evolving mobility needs of Indonesian society.
The arrival of the Aira ev, part of the celebration of Wuling’s ninth year in Indonesia, is already being produced locally by Indonesian talent at Wuling’s manufacturing facility in Cikarang, West Java. The Aira ev represents Wuling’s commitment to delivering an electric vehicle that answers the mobility needs of various groups, from students and first jobbers to professionals and Indonesian families.
In addition to offering products suited to the needs of Indonesian consumers, Wuling has also equipped the Aira ev with a Free Lifetime EV Core Components Warranty covering three main electric vehicle components: the Drive Motor, Motor Controller Unit, and High Voltage Battery. This programme forms part of Wuling’s commitment to providing a more comfortable and worry-free electric vehicle ownership experience for its customers.
“Driven by the spirit of ‘Wuling Built in Indonesia For You’, we have been trusted by consumers as a mobility partner. We have built that trust through three main commitments: Good Product, Good Quality, and Good Service. On this occasion, we also invite everyone to visit the Wuling booth at GIIAS 2026 and experience first-hand the innovations we are presenting, including the Wuling Aira ev,” Arif Pramadana added.
Under the theme ‘Growing Together as a Family’, Wuling simultaneously introduced its newest EV city car.
Wuling is offering special promotions and various interactive activities for visitors throughout the exhibition.
West Java is a promising market for Wuling, contributing 5% of the company’s total sales in Indonesia during 2025.
PT Wuling Motors is still awaiting clarity on concrete policy from regional governments regarding the implementation of electric vehicle incentives, which are no longer centrally administered.
