Wuling Darion Indonesian Production Breaks into Hong Kong Market
JAKARTA – Wuling Motors has introduced its flagship electrified MPV, the Wuling Darion, to international markets. The vehicle, manufactured at the company’s Cikarang facility, has been introduced in several countries to capitalise on production capacity whilst expanding export markets.
The Darion is an electrified MPV featuring a spacious cabin design and various digital features that enhance passenger comfort. The model is one of Wuling’s electrified products manufactured at the company’s facility in Cikarang, West Java.
“The Darion has already been exported to several countries, including Brunei Darussalam and Hong Kong. We are also exploring several other countries,” said Ricky in Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026.
According to him, the presence of Wuling’s production facility in Cikarang is one of the factors driving the company to expand its export market from Indonesia.
“Since Wuling already has a factory in Indonesia, one of the contributions we want to make is to open up export markets. So products manufactured from our Cikarang facility can also be shipped to various countries,” he said.
Ricky explained that shipments of the Darion to Hong Kong actually began last year. However, in the initial stage, the units shipped were used for display or product introduction purposes in that market.
Meanwhile, for the Brunei Darussalam market, the vehicle was only introduced approximately two weeks ago. Wuling continues to monitor the development of consumer response in that country.
“The response has been quite positive so far and we continue to monitor. We see that the MPV segment in these countries is also quite substantial,” said Ricky.
For reference, the Wuling Darion has fairly large body dimensions with a length of 4,910 mm, width of 1,850–1,870 mm, and height of 1,770 mm, enabling it to accommodate a three-row passenger cabin configuration. The MPV is offered in two electrification variants: a pure electric vehicle (EV) version and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version.
