Wuling Aira EV vs BYD Atto 1: A Comprehensive Comparison for the Indonesian Market

The electric vehicle (EV) market in Indonesia is becoming increasingly competitive, with new options emerging in the Rp150 million to Rp200 million range. As of August 2026, two main contenders are vying for attention: the Wuling Aira EV and the BYD ATTO 1. While their prices overlap, they offer very different driving philosophies.

The Wuling Aira EV is not merely a successor to the Air EV but a practical evolution with a compact, four-door body measuring 3.27 metres. Its primary strength lies in its exceptional 4.5-metre turning radius, making it highly superior for navigating narrow city streets and tight parking spaces. The Long Range variant, priced at Rp175 million, is the recommended choice, offering a significant upgrade over the Standard Range model for an additional Rp20 million.

In terms of after-sales support, Wuling currently leads with a network of 150 dealers across Indonesia, while BYD is expanding its presence with over 50 official outlets. BYD offers a comprehensive vehicle warranty of 6 years or 150,000 km. The final decision rests on the buyer’s specific needs and budget, balancing the Aira EV’s city-friendly agility against the ATTO 1’s superior space, performance, and overall package.
