Wuhan launches direct passenger flight route to Jakarta
Wuhan (ANTARA) - A new direct air route connecting central China and Southeast Asia was launched on Sunday (12/4), with the inaugural flight taking off from Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, bound for Jakarta. The route marks the first direct connection between the two cities. Flight number MF8683, carrying more than 150 passengers, departed from Wuhan Tianhe International Airport at 16.40 local time (15.40 WIB) and flew to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The route is operated using a Boeing 737-800 MAX aircraft and serves four flights per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. According to Wuhan Tianhe International Airport authorities, the launch fills the gap in direct passenger flight capacity between Wuhan and key cities in Indonesia, while further expanding the central Chinese city’s route network to Southeast Asia.
