WSP Receives Award for Culture-Based Infrastructure Innovation
Wika Serang Panimbang (WSP) has achieved the ‘Excellence in Infrastructure Development Through Local Cultural Innovation’ award at the 2026 Transportation Awards. This accolade was presented in the SOE (BUMN) and BUMD category within the Transport, Infrastructure, and Supply Chain sector.
This recognition serves as tangible proof of WSP’s efforts to deliver infrastructure development that is not only focused on quality and sustainability but also integrates local cultural values as part of the identity of every project built. A concrete implementation of this commitment can be seen at the Cikulur-Cileles Toll Gate on the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road, which features an architectural design inspired by the unique Baduy culture. The presence of local cultural elements in this infrastructure symbolises the harmony between developmental progress and the preservation of cultural heritage, while simultaneously strengthening regional character and identity.
The award was received directly by the Director of Finance, Human Capital, Management, and Risk, San Oktavia Hari Akbar, representing the company during the award ceremony. The 2026 Transportation Award recognises WSP’s commitment to delivering infrastructure that excels in quality while respecting and elevating local cultural values.
“We believe that the best innovation is one that can provide benefits to society while maintaining cultural identity as part of sustainable development. WSP will continue to deliver innovative, adaptive, and positively impactful infrastructure works for Indonesia,” he stated in a written release on Friday (31/7/2026).
WSP intends to continue strengthening its commitment to developing various infrastructure projects that prioritise sustainability, innovation, and local cultural empowerment as part of the company’s contribution to national development. The Serang-Panimbang Toll Road is part of the toll road network connected to the Trans-Java Toll Road, linking Jakarta, Serang, Lebak, and Pandeglang. This toll road is expected to enhance connectivity and accessibility within the Banten region, particularly in Central and Southern Banten, thereby driving economic growth and tourism in the area.
