Writting contest results announced

JAKARTA (JP): Nulie Komerita, a high school student of SMA I, Jakarta, is the winner of the sixth annual writing competition held in celebrating the United Nations Day.

The runnerup is Diana Fransyska of SMA 43 Jakarta, and Dianindah Apriani, of SMA 44 wins the third prize. At the fourth, fifth and six places are Susan of SMA Theresia, Jakarta, and Agung Setia Bakti of SMA I, Tangerang, West Java, and Erwan Pitra Jayta of SMA Islam Al-Azhar I, Jakarta.

Djudju Abdulrachman, the chairperson of the organizing committee said yesterday Nulie will get Jakarta-London round trip ticket from British Airways, Rp 500,000 (US$218) saving, books and trophy.

Diana will get Rp 300,000 saving as the runnerup, while Rp 200,000 will be given to Dianindah. The fourth, fifth and sixth prize holders will get Rp 150,000 each.

The prizes will be awarded in a ceremony on Nov. 28.

The competition was jointly held by the United Nations Information Center Jakarta and Lions Club Indonesia Multiple District 307.

The theme of the competition was National Discipline in Facing the Negative Impacts of Globalization.

Sutarto, head of the judges team of the competition said that 121 students took place in the competition held last month. (32)
