Writing competition

JAKARTA (JP): The city administration will hold a writing
competition on tourism for high school students in a bid to
involve city high schools in tourism development.

Parlindungan Hutabarat, an official of the City Tourism
Office, said on Tuesday that the writing competition is aimed at
developing students' creativity, initiative and talent.

"This is also expected to give the students something positive
to do during their holidays," he said.

The city administration, he said, will award Rp 600,000
(US$272.72) to the winner, Rp 500,000 to second place and Rp
400,000 to third place.

The registration for the competition will be held between June
1 and 20 at the office of the education and culture ministry on
Jl. Gatot Subroto in South Jakarta and at the City Tourism Office
on Jl. Kuningan Barat also in South Jakarta. (yns)
