CEO Larry Fink received a significant compensation increase for 2025 in line with BlackRock’s solid performance as the world’s largest asset manager. Citing Reuters on Tuesday (31/3/2026), Fink’s total pay reached US$37.7 million or Rp641.64 billion (exchange rate Rp17,020), up from US$30.8 million the previous year. The package consists of a base salary of US$1.5 million and a bonus of US$10.6 million, with the increase primarily driven by an additional US$6.5 million in stock-based compensation. This rise comes after BlackRock posted strong results throughout 2025. The company recorded assets under management (AUM) surpassing a record US$14 trillion in January 2026, while exceeding market expectations with Q4-2025 net profit of US$2.18 billion. In a letter to investors, Fink stated that the company is entering 2026 with increasing momentum and is well-positioned to capture future growth opportunities. Nevertheless, the size of management compensation has faced criticism. Proxy advisor Institutional Shareholder Services recommended last year that investors reject BlackRock’s executive pay package. However, the company still garnered majority support with around 67% of shareholder votes approving the remuneration policy. From a market perspective, BlackRock shares rose about 4.5% throughout 2025 but have corrected by more than 12% since the start of this year. This indicates that while the company’s fundamentals remain strong, market sentiment towards the global asset management sector continues to fluctuate amid economic and financial market dynamics.
