Jakarta (ANTARA) - The President of World Muslim Youth, Said Aldi Al Idrus, views the joint attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran as a threat to the foundations of global peace.

“This attack is not merely a military operation. It is an action that violates universal humanitarian values and threatens the foundations of world peace,” said Said in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Monday.

Furthermore, he views US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as having committed a violation of humanity by launching attacks during Ramadan, the holy month for Muslims worldwide.

“Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu have violated humanity towards Islamic nations by breaching the sovereignty and authority of another nation, and have injured the religious sentiments of Muslims throughout the world,” he said.

Meanwhile, he assessed that the attack targeting Iran’s leadership symbol, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, sets a dangerous precedent in international relations.

According to him, the attack has the potential to trigger wider conflict escalation in the Middle East region and could draw global powers into open warfare.

“If this conflict continues to escalate, the impact will not be merely regional but global, including on economic stability, energy security, and international security,” he said.

Previously, Israel launched attacks on Iran on 28 February 2026.

On a separate occasion, US President Donald Trump stated that American military forces had initiated large-scale combat operations in Iran.

One of the joint US-Israeli attacks comprised seven rockets that struck Tehran near the residence of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Subsequently, Iran launched rocket attacks against Israel and various other targets in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.

Meanwhile, Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that President Prabowo Subianto is prepared to travel to Iran to facilitate dialogue in order to restore conducive security conditions.

On 1 March 2026, Iran’s government confirmed the death of Ali Khamenei in the attacks and declared a 40-day period of mourning as well as one week of work suspension.
