World Habitat Day to be celebrated

SURABAYA: President Megawati Soekarnoputri is scheduled to
attend the celebration of World Habitat Day in Nginden Jangkungan
village, Sukolilo subdistrict, on Oct. 27.

The head of the provincial resettlement and regional
infrastructure office, Edy Indrayana, said on Monday that during
the event the head of state would present awards to youths who
had contributed to resettlement efforts.

"She will be accompanied by resettlement and regional
infrastructure minister Soenarno, home affairs Minister Hari
Sabarno and all governors of Indonesia," Edy said.

On Tuesday, Megawati is slated to visit Tasikmalaya district
in West Java to attend the celebration of National Agricultural
Week and will proceed to Yogyakarta to open a biotech convention.
