World-class circus in Makassar fills school holidays

Makassar (ANTARA) - The international-scale circus performance Great World Circus 2 On Ice (GWC 2026) has returned to Makassar to fill the school holiday period.

“The performance, featuring circus artists from various countries, will be held at the Summarecon Mutiara Makassar Convention Center (SMCC) from 19 June to 5 July 2026,” said Indra W Antono, Executive Director of Summarecon Agung Tbk, in Makassar on Friday.

He said that after successfully attracting nearly 37,000 spectators during its inaugural run last year, the Great World Circus returns with a new concept titled #NewHolidayNewVibe, combining world-class acrobatic acts with a winter-themed experience area.

Indra said the presence of Great World Circus 2 On Ice is an effort to present quality family entertainment options while providing a different school holiday experience for the people of Makassar and its surrounding areas.

According to him, as an integrated township developer, Summarecon is committed to presenting various international-scale activities that not only offer entertainment but also enrich community activities and support the growth of the creative economy and tourism sector in Makassar.

Beyond watching circus acts, visitors can also enjoy the Ice Skating Wonderland, a winter-themed play area featuring various interactive activities such as an ice skating rink, ice sliding, and a snow playground.

The event area is also equipped with a variety of culinary options in collaboration with Midtown. The presence of Great World Circus 2 On Ice is also part of efforts to strengthen Makassar’s position as a destination for entertainment, tourism, and lifestyle in Eastern Indonesia.

Tickets are available at prices ranging from Rp200,000 to Rp600,000 and can be booked online through the organiser’s official website and ticket sales platforms.
