High volatility is still likely to continue until the end of May.

The culture of occupational safety and health (K3) is now becoming a major focus in the manufacturing sector. No longer just about meeting regulatory obligations, the implementation of a safety culture is starting to be seen as an important part of maintaining business sustainability, productivity, as well as employee welfare. This trend is evident from the increasing number of companies strengthening their work safety systems through culture-based and behavior-based approaches, as well as the use of technology and automation in operational areas.

One of the commitments to strengthening work safety culture is shown by PT Sarihusada Generasi Mahardika, which received the Level Platinum Work Safety Award at the WSO Indonesia Safety Culture Award 2026 from the World Safety Organization Indonesia. The award was given as a form of recognition for the company’s consistency in implementing global standard occupational safety and health practices in all operational activities.

The award was presented by the Chairman of the World Safety Organization Indonesia, Soehatman Ramli, to the Factory Director of Sarihusada East Factory, Lastiani Amy Rosalina, at the Bidakara Hotel.

The assessment in WISCA 2026 was carried out by measuring the level of safety culture, verifying documents, and conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGD) independently and professionally. Based on the results of the assessment, Sarihusada was deemed to have met all the indicators and criteria set.

The achievement of the Platinum level award is said to reflect how work safety has become part of the company’s culture and is applied in decision-making and daily operational activities.

Lastiani Amy Rosalina said that the award is a reminder for the company to continue to strengthen the work safety culture throughout the organization.

“At Sarihusada, safety is not just about complying with procedures, but has become part of the work culture and shared responsibility,” she said.

According to her, a safe and healthy work environment is an important foundation in supporting business sustainability as well as employee welfare. She added that a strong safety culture can only be built through the involvement of all parties, from management to workers in the field.

To support operational safety in the factory area, Sarihusada implements various safety initiatives that focus on strengthening culture and work behavior. These programs include Safety Trigger which is integrated with the Integrated Work System (IWS), Job Cycle Check (JCC), and Leader Coaching on The Floor (LCOTF).

In addition, the company also strengthens the implementation of operational safety standards through various assessments such as Hazard Area Classification (HAC), Machine Assessment Safety (MAS), and Powered Industrial Vehicle Assessment (PIV). Various automation-based initiatives are also continuously being developed to ensure that the company’s operations run safely and in accordance with work safety regulations in Indonesia.

The WSO Indonesia stated that a strong work safety culture is the main foundation in realizing world-class safety performance in the industrial sector.

Through the organization of WISCA, the organization also encourages award-winning companies to become role models in strengthening the implementation of work safety culture in Indonesia.

The WISCA 2026 event is part of a series of commemorations for the 2026 National Occupational Safety and Health Month with the theme of World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This year, the award was attended by various companies from various industries that were deemed to have successfully implemented a work safety culture consistently.

Through the award, Sarihusada stated that it will continue to strengthen the implementation of the K3 culture through improving employee capacity, implementing safe work systems, and strengthening a culture of mutual care in the work environment. (E-3) (E-3)
