Working Visit to Jogja, Muzani Delivers Greetings from Prabowo to Religious Leaders and Scholars
MPR RI Chairman Ahmad Muzani undertook a working visit to Yogyakarta. Muzani brought respectful greetings from President Prabowo Subianto to the figures, ulama, and pesantren leaders in Jogja.
“Yes, I informed him of this news that I would be visiting Yogyakarta, and he conveyed respectful greetings to the figures, the ulama, the pesantren leaders we would visit, including to Prof Haedar and Mrs Haedar,” said Muzani to reporters in Yogyakarta on Sunday (5/4/2026).
“I conveyed that to Mr Prabowo, and he sent those respectful greetings,” he continued.
During his visit, Muzani first called on the residence of the General Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership (PP) Haedar Nashir in Bantul, Yogyakarta. Muzani stated that his purpose was for halalbihalal as well as to discuss the geopolitical situation.
“Yes, today we are paying a visit to the General Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership, Professor Haedar Nashir. First, this is still in the atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr, Lebaran, I haven’t met him and Mrs Haedar yet. Today I am visiting Jogja to pay respects and convey minal aidin wal faidzin, apologies for any physical and spiritual shortcomings,” he said.
In addition to halalbihalal, Muzani mentioned that the purpose of his arrival to meet Haedar Nashir was also to discuss state matters and the geopolitical situation. According to him, the issues discussed could connect thoughts and strengthen relations.
“Second, in the visit earlier, we talked a lot about state affairs, the geopolitical situation, and other matters. I think we had quite a substantial discussion with him, connecting thoughts, connecting relations, and connecting discussions on some important matters,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Haedar Nashir expressed thanks for Muzani’s visit to his residence. In that meeting, he revealed discussions on addressing geopolitics.
“In facing global geopolitics, we discussed that our strongest capital is unity. So when we unite to face any global political situation, no matter how heavy, Indonesia, God willing, will be able to handle it,” said Haedar Nashir.
“We believe that President Prabowo, with a constitutional spirit and safeguarding Indonesia’s sovereignty, will lead Indonesia based on the principles of independence, justice, and civilised humanity in guiding global political orientation, including defending Palestine,” he added.
