Workers say demands not met

TANGERANG (JP): About 600 workers of cooking oil factory PT Cisadane Raya Chemical (CRC) staged a protest at the Tangerang Council on Thursday, demanding the councillors help them clarify the status of their demands for better welfare.

The group marched about five kilometers from the factory at Jl. Imam Bonjol 88 in Karawaci, Tangerang, to the council, waving banners and chanting.

"There was no joint agreement between us and the employer. Our demands on proper raises, food and major holiday allowances have also been ignored," workers' representative Teguh Waluyo told a meeting with legislators. (41/edt)
