Workers Receive Basic Foodstuffs Package After Attending May Day at Monas, What Does It Contain?

JAKARTA - Workers who attended the International Labour Day (May Day) commemoration in 2026 at the National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta, on Friday (1/5/2026) began receiving basic foodstuffs packages after the event concluded.

Based on Kompas.com observations, the basic foodstuffs packages were distributed in drawstring bags coloured white and blue with the inscription Presidential Palace of the Republic of Indonesia.

While opening the drawstring bag, she explained that it contained rice and sugar.

“Alhamdulillah, we’re just grateful. It feels good to receive the basic foodstuffs. It can be used at home,” said Eka.

Eka stated that the aid was quite helpful for her family’s needs.

She has two children, so the basic foodstuffs could be used for cooking needs at home.

“I’m going to give it to my wife. My wife is already waiting at home,” said Soleh.

“It only took about 20 minutes to queue earlier, then I got this. After receiving the basic foodstuffs, I was told to dip my finger in ink,” added Soleh.

For information, the 2026 May Day commemoration at Monas was attended directly by President Prabowo Subianto.

The series of activities ended at 11:00 WIB. After the event finished, participants then queued to receive the basic foodstuffs packages within the Monas area.
