Workers Protest at Ministry of Manpower This Morning, Motorists Advised to Use Alternative Routes

A protest is scheduled to take place starting at 09:00 WIB, as reported by the Traffic Management Center (TMC) of Metro Jaya Police. The TMC anticipates traffic congestion due to the demonstration.

“In connection with the activity of expressing opinions on Thursday, 7 May 2026, starting at 09:00 WIB in the area of the Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia, South Jakarta, traffic flow around the location is expected to experience increased density and journey slowdowns,” stated the TMC of Metro Jaya Police on Thursday (7/5/2026).

Motorists are requested to adjust their travel times and seek alternative routes to avoid congestion.

“The public is advised to adjust travel times, use alternative routes if necessary, and continue to comply with instructions from officers on the ground to maintain security, order, and smooth flow together,” wrote the TMC of Metro Jaya Police.

According to a press release received, the worker masses are expected to arrive at the Ministry of Manpower office around 10:15 WIB. There will be thousands of workers participating, led by KSPI President and Labour Party figure, Said Iqbal.

Several main demands will be voiced by the worker masses, including urging the Ministry of Manpower to revoke Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 7 of 2026 regarding Outsourcing.
