Workers Protest at Indomaret Tower in PIK, Demand Overtime Pay

Indomaret workers belonging to PUK SPAi FSPmi PT Indomarco Prismatam held a demonstration outside Indomaret Tower in PIK, North Jakarta, demanding their overtime wages be paid. The workers began gathering at 9:40am wearing their respective union attire. Flags from organisations such as the Labour Party and FSPmi were visible, with the demonstration guided by a command vehicle. Workers chanted ‘Pay our overtime!’ while displaying bannered demands. The six demands included: 1) Rejecting all forms of coercion, pressure, and manipulation of statements against workers; 2) affirming workers’ right to overtime wages; 3) rejecting the replacement of overtime rights with additional time off as per regulations; 4) demanding the company’s compliance with company regulations and the labour law; 5) demanding strict action against individuals who intimidate; and 6) not damaging industrial relations. Police monitored the protest, which caused traffic delays in the area.
