Workers killed by lightning
BANDAR LAMPUNG: Five workers were killed and eight others
injured when lightning struck a hut in a sugar cane plantation in
Seputih Regency, Central Lampung, last week.
All of the victims were women who ranged between 33 and 37
years of age, Antara reported.
Eyewitnesses said that 24 workers were resting in the hut
after lunch.
When the lightning, which came in the midst of heavy rain,
struck the hut, many of the victims were holding onto iron posts
and touching other people. (tis)
