Workers' hospital built

JAKARTA: Manpower Minister Jacob Nuwa Wea laid the first
cornerstone of a workers' hospital in Banda Aceh on Saturday.

"Now that the Aceh governor and the Aceh Besar district chief
have made a real start to construct this hospital, we will
seriously support the project," Minister Jacob said.

The hospital is located on a five-hectare plot of land in
Lambaro subdistrict, Aceh Besar district, about 15 kilometers
from Banda Aceh, Naggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD)'s provincial
capital.

Money to cover the project's costs would come from the
Workers' Social Insurance (Jamsostek) fund managed by the
Manpower Ministry and from the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
government, Jacob said. --Antara

The local administration and his ministry still needed to
agree on a mechanism to ensure the smooth disbursement of the
committed funds so that the project did not have to undergo any
delay because of bureaucratic hitches, he said.

Meanwhile, UAE's deputy ambassador to Indonesia, Ahmed Al
Hosani, who was present at the first-corner-stone laying
ceremony, said he would soon contact his government about the
financial assistance it had agreed to provide for the project.
