Workers demand postponed salary
TANGERANG (JP): Forty workers of PT Proclean, a cleaning
service company, ended their one-week strike, but demanded that
the management pay two months worth of postponed salary.
The workers staged a protest at the Tangerang legislative
council building.
The workers at the Garuda Indonesia maintenance facility at
Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, told legislator Endang
Muchtar that the company had not paid their February and March
salaries.
They said the management at the company's main office in
Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, had said that the money for their
salary had not been transferred by Garuda Indonesia.
The workers also complained about the dismissal of 17 workers
without fair severance pay.
Legislator Endang Muchtar told The Jakarta Post that the
council will investigate the matter within this week. (18/03)
