Workers' Delight in Receiving Grocery Packages as May Day Gifts in 2026

One of the workers who received the groceries was Soleh (29). The man who works at one of the factories in the Cikarang industrial area, Bekasi, said he had been preparing since morning to join the May Day celebrations at the Monas area. “I arrived here at half past six (in the morning), by bus. It feels very, very happy, and I’m very grateful (to the President),” said Soleh when met after the May Day event on Friday (1/5/2026). Soleh admitted he did not know he would receive a gift in the form of a grocery package. For him, this assistance is very meaningful for his family waiting at home. “For my wife at home waiting with the child, this is for them. Alhamdulillah, I got it, I just had to queue earlier,” he said. Eka (33), an employee working in the shoe industry in the Balaraja area, Tangerang, expressed the same sentiment. The mother of two children said she was very pleased to receive the groceries from Prabowo. “Alhamdulillah, happy, very useful for home,” said Eka. She mentioned having to queue to get the grocery package. After that, Eka had to dip the tip of her little finger into coloured ink as a sign that she had received the assistance. “The queue was quite long. But I was in the early part, so it was quick,” she said. Observations at the location showed that the grocery packages from Prabowo were wrapped in a drawstring bag coloured white and blue with the words ‘Istana Kepresidenan Republik Indonesia’. The bag contained 2.5 kilograms (kg) of rice, 2 packets of margarine, 1 large packet of coffee, 1 kg of white sugar, 1 can of sardines, 1 packet of sweetened condensed milk, and 1 packet of tea bags.
