Workers Convoy from Semanggi to Monas to Join May Day

Observations at the Semanggi flyover in Central Jakarta on Friday (1/5/2026) at 07:30 WIB showed groups of workers convoying through the Semanggi area towards Monas. They appeared to be riding motorcycles in pairs to join the May Day 2026 celebrations at Monas. There were groups of workers compactly wearing red T-shirts and white T-shirts with red and white images. There were also crowds from online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol) joining the convoy. They were seen carrying their association flags, which were waved along the road as they passed. For information, the peak of the International Labour Day or May Day 2026 celebrations is being held today at the National Monument (Monas). President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the May Day celebrations. A total of 24,980 combined personnel have been deployed to secure the May Day 2026 activities centred at Monas up to the DPR/MPR area. The involved forces consist of elements from Polri, TNI, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, and other security elements.
