Workers and Students in Action 214 Phase 2 Storm East Kalimantan DPRD, Remove Barbed Wire

Workers and students in Action 214 Phase 2 protested in front of the East Kalimantan DPRD office. This time, the crowd came from a coalition of several universities and workers in East Kalimantan. Observations by detikcom on Monday afternoon showed a procession of students carrying flags identifying their organisations filling the area in front of the council building. They gathered at the Islamic Center before walking to the DPRD building. Upon arriving at the East Kalimantan DPRD, the crowd found the office gate in the same condition as before, smeared with oil and surrounded by barbed wire from the previous demonstration. Several demonstrators attempted to damage the barbed wire. Additionally, four students were seen tearing down a billboard image, similar to what they did previously. This time, the advertisement board contained May Day greetings featuring the faces of the council chairman and members. In this action, the crowd demanded transparency of information regarding the signing of inquiry rights, which was supposed to take place that day. However, they felt they received no information at all after the April 21 demonstration.
