Workers are accelerating the construction of permanent housing (huntap) for victims of the hydrometeorological disaster in Kuala Cerape, Jangka Subdistrict, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province. “We are continuing to speed up the construction of huntap in this area. We are targeted to complete one huntap unit in 15 days,” said Ridwan, a permanent housing construction worker in Gampong Kuala Cerape, Jangka Subdistrict, Bireuen Regency, on Wednesday. Ridwan explained that the permanent housing being built consists of houses with two bedrooms and one bathroom. The houses are built without a kitchen and veranda. The houses being constructed are residences for disaster victims whose homes were levelled to the ground. The permanent housing is being built on the disaster victims’ own land. Ridwan noted that the permanent housing construction workers are local residents who are also affected by the hydrometeorological disaster at the end of November 2025. “Our job is only to build. Meanwhile, building materials such as bricks, cement, and steel frames for door and window frames are delivered to the site. The construction of this permanent housing is government assistance,” said Ridwan. The Head of the Bireuen Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Doli Mardian, stated that the construction of permanent housing in Kuala Cerape is being accelerated. There are 50 units of permanent housing starting to be built in the surrounding area. “The permanent housing in that area is being built by the National Disaster Management Agency or BNPB. Meanwhile, for the entire Bireuen Regency, there are 1,000 units starting to be built with a target completion date of the 15th,” said Doli Mardian.
