Worker Protection Run 2026 Voices Safeguards for Workers
A total of 1,037 participants enlivened the Worker Protection Run 2026 Bantul, successfully held on Sunday (14/6/2026) at Potorono Dinosaurus Park (Potorono Edu Park), Banguntapan, Bantul, Special Region of Yogyakarta. Carrying the slogan “Protect Your Step”, this activity served as both a sporting event and a campaign highlighting the importance of protection and employment social security for workers.
Participants from various backgrounds, including workers, running communities, government agencies, companies, and the general public, enthusiastically took part in the 5K Fun Run category. From the early morning, the event area was filled with a spirit of togetherness and a healthy lifestyle, which are core values of the event.
The activity was attended by KH Ahmad Sugeng Utomo, Patron of Santripreneur Indonesia; Drs. Noviar Rahmad, M.Si., Expert Staff to the Governor of DIY for Economy and Development, representing the Governor of DIY; Ariyanto Wibowo, S.H., M.Hum., Head of the DIY Manpower and Transmigration Office, representing the DIY Regional Secretary; Cahyaning Indriasari, Head of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Regional Office for Central Java and DIY; Agus Dwi Fitriyanto, Assistant Deputy for Special Programme and Agency Participation at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Headquarters; and Rudi Susanto, Head of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Yogyakarta Branch Office.
In his remarks, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan emphasised that the Worker Protection Run is an effort to bring the message of worker protection closer to the public through a positive, healthy, and enjoyable activity. Besides encouraging the public to be active in sports, this event also serves as an educational platform on the importance of employment social security as a form of protection for workers and their families.
After participants completed the 5-kilometre running route, the festivities continued with a Zumba Party led by Zin Yenny, open free of charge to the general public. Hundreds of participants and visitors joined the lively and energetic Zumba session. Various door prizes and the presence of MSMEs further added to the vibrant atmosphere.
The successful organisation of the Worker 2026 Series Bantul demonstrates the high level of public enthusiasm for sports activities combined with social campaigns. It is hoped that this event can continue to serve as a platform for collaboration between the government, businesses, communities, and the public in building a healthy, productive, and protected work culture, while simultaneously encouraging increased awareness of the importance of worker protection in Indonesia.
