Worker killed in warehouse accident

TANGERANG: A man was killed when he was crushed by a forklift in a workplace accident at food producer PT Mayora in Jati Uwung, Tangerang, on Thursday evening.

Tangerang Police Insp. Kustanto said on Friday that Wadi, 48, was driving the forklift loaded with food products in the company's warehouse when the incident occurred.

"The victim turned the forklift right but suddenly it toppled on its side and he was crushed under it. He died instantly because of severe head injuries," Kustanto said on Friday.

Wadi's body was taken to the Tangerang General Hospital morgue.

The police are investigating the case and plan to question more witnesses. -- JP
