Worker dies from hot steam burns

JAKARTA (JP): An employee of a private steel company located
in Pulogadung, East Jakarta, died on Thursday evening after three
weeks of treatment for severe burns at the Cipto Mangunkusumo
general hospital.

Syaifullah, 27, a worker at PT Pulogadung Steel, and his three
co-workers were rushed to the state-owned hospital early last
month after hot steam burned their unprotected bodies and faces,
hospital sources said yesterday.

His three friends are no longer in a critical condition but
are still being treated at the hospital. (bsr)
