Work From Anywhere Schedule for Civil Servants and Private Employees During Eid 2026
The government has implemented a work from anywhere (WFA) policy for civil servants (ASN) and private sector employees during the Eid 2026 holidays. The WFA is scheduled to occur both before and after the Eid public holiday period.
WFA Schedule for Civil Servants 2026
The WFA policy for civil servants during Eid 2026 is regulated under the Circular Letter of the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform No. 2/2026 concerning the Adjustment of Duty Implementation for Civil Servants in Government Institutions during National Holidays and Joint Leave for the Holy Day of Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.
According to the circular, WFA for civil servants will take place on:
Two days before the national holiday and joint leave for the Holy Day of Nyepi (Saka Year 1948):
Monday, 16 March 2026
Tuesday, 17 March 2026
Three days after the national holiday and joint leave for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah:
Wednesday, 25 March 2026
Thursday, 26 March 2026
Friday, 27 March 2026
The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform clarified that this WFA arrangement should not be interpreted as an extension of public holidays, but rather as a flexible work arrangement to maintain government continuity and public service delivery during the national holiday and joint leave period.
WFA Schedule for Private Sector Employees 2026
Similarly, private sector employees are also permitted to work from anywhere during the 2026 Eid holiday period.
This is regulated under the Circular Letter of the Minister of Manpower No. M/2/HK.04/II/2026 concerning the Implementation of Work From Anywhere for Workers in Companies during the Holy Day of Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 2026.
Private sector employees may conduct WFA during 2026 Eid on:
Monday, 16 March 2026
Tuesday, 17 March 2026
Wednesday, 25 March 2026
Thursday, 26 March 2026
Friday, 27 March 2026
It should be noted that WFA implementation may be exempted for certain sectors, including healthcare, logistics, transport, security, hospitality, shopping centres, manufacturing, food and beverage industries, other essential sectors, or those related to production continuity.
Additionally, WFA is not counted as annual leave.
