A number of Jakarta provincial government employees boarded buses during evening rush hour as the work from anywhere (WFA) policy came into effect ahead of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday for both civil servants and private sector workers, on Monday, 16 March 2026.

Observations by CNBC Indonesia during evening rush hour showed that various transport modes around the City Hall area appeared less busy than usual. However, the inner city expressway and Jalan Gatot Subroto were observed to be congested during rush hour.

The policy is based on the Circular Letter of the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform No. 2/2026 concerning the adjustment of duty performance for state civil apparatus (ASN) employees in government agencies during the national holiday period and joint leave for Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.

For the private sector, the WFA arrangement for Eid 2026 also runs for five days, based on the Circular Letter of the Minister of Manpower No. M/2/HK.04/II/2026 concerning the implementation of work from alternative locations (Work From Anywhere) for workers and labourers at companies during the Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr holy days in 2026.
