Woodyrman Arrested for Fatal Assault on Bruneian National in Jakarta
Polda Metro Jaya arrested Bruneian celebrity Woodyrman, whose real name is Mohamad Irman Ali (33), for the fatal assault of fellow Bruneian national MHF (30) in Blok M, South Jakarta. Woodyrman was arrested at a residence in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, early on Monday (25/5) following a series of police investigations. In a video obtained by authorities, investigators are seen visiting Woodyrman’s residence and questioning him about the assault. The footage also shows Woodyrman reenacting the dispute with the victim and the assault itself. ‘Yes (celebrity Woodyrman). The suspect has now been taken to Polda Metro Jaya for further investigation,’ a police official stated. Assistant Commissioner Resa Fiardi Marasabessy, Subdirector of Mobile Brigade at Polda Metro Jaya’s Criminal Investigation Directorate, confirmed the arrest followed investigative efforts, with police securing evidence including CCTV footage from the scene. ‘Based on the investigation, the team successfully identified the suspect, who was then arrested,’ he said. Woodyrman faces charges under Article 466(3) and/or Article 468(2) of Indonesia’s Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code for assault resulting in death. The assault occurred on Wednesday (6/5) at 03:30 WIB, when the victim was initially at the location with a witness. Others arrived and sat with him before the dispute escalated, leading the perpetrator to strike the victim with a glass bottle, causing him to fall. The victim was taken to hospital after collapsing and was pronounced dead on Saturday (16/5) at RSPP following treatment.
