Woods to make Asian pro debut
BANGKOK (AFP): Golfing sensation Tiger Woods is to make his professional Asian debut at the Asian Honda Invitational tournament in Thailand next February, organizers announced.
The 20-year-old's mother is a Thai and he has had several lucrative offers to play in other Asian events.
The Invitational, part of the Asian PGA tour, is at the Thai Country Club near Bangkok, Feb. 6 to Feb. 9. Scotland's Colin Montgomerie and New Zealand's Frank Nobilo will also compete in the tournament.
Woods played as an amateur at the Johnnie Walker Classic in Phuket, Thailand three years ago.
