Woodpecker Show 2005

Students of the Jakarta Arts Institute will display their
sculptures and carvings at the Woodpecker Show 2005 which runs
from Aug. 8 to Aug. 17 at the Galeri Cipta III, Taman Ismail
Marzuki (TIM) complex in Jakarta.

The exhibition, which is organized by the Institute and the
Jakarta Arts Council, will showcase wooden sculptures and
carvings not as "designs" but rather as "art".

It thus seeks to change the perceptions of many people who see
wood crafts as involving design rather than art.
