Women's voice

Women's voice

From Media Indonesia

It sounds as if it is enough to talk about Indonesian women's
sufferings, which have been inherited from generation to
generation. It has been tiring enough to trust men to fight for
our future and rights. It is time we rolled up our sleeves to
fight for our own destiny.

In order to support the efforts towards upholding women's
human rights, we the Indonesian Women's Network (JAPI) hereby
declare as follows:

1. Indonesian women must actively play a role in all areas
of national life.

2. Indonesian women are playing the role of peacemaker in all
kinds of conflicts in Indonesia.

3. Indonesian women must demand an equal share in overall
political participation, such as membership of the
legislature, supreme advisory council and supreme court.

Eventually, women should become the pioneers of law
enforcement so as to thoroughly investigate all irregularities in
this country.
