Women's minister offers advice

BOYOLALI, Central Java: State Minister for Women's Roles Mien Soegandi has asked Indonesian women, in their campaign against sexual harassment, to have the courage to examine themselves.

"We, women, must dare to look at ourselves, our attitudes," Mien was quoted by Antara on Saturday.

She told participants at the Jamboree on Family and Cooperatives Movement in the Boyolali regency that women sometimes play a part in the occurrence of sexual harassment due to their own "behavior".

She also urged more women to participate in promoting the state-driven family planning program (KB) and the family welfare program (PKK).(imn)
