Women's driver to defend title
JAKARTA (JP): Women's racer Yattie Pirngadie will try to stay on the winning track in the second leg of the national sprint rally championships at Bumi Serpong Damai, Tangerang, West Java on July 10.
Point leader Yattie, who was included among the top 25 of the 400-kilometer Rally of Indonesia in Medan recently, is pitted against 92 racers who will make waves on two special stages covering a stretch of 12.9 kilometers.
A total of Rp 8 million (US$3,743) cash prizes and 36 trophies are at stake at the event which will feature 10 categories. A number of leading national drivers are invited to get behind their wheels in the race, which also serves as a talent scouting ground of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI). (amd)
