The West Jakarta Administrative City Government is promoting the strengthening of women’s roles so that they are not limited to the domestic sphere, but are also active and empowered in various fields of life.

This encouragement was conveyed during the commemoration of Kartini Day held at Walkot Farm 4.0, the West Jakarta Mayor’s Office, Jalan Kembangan Raya, on Wednesday (22/4/2026).

“The recent developments in our era have demanded multi-talented roles for women. Not only able to manage the home, but also able to create and be empowered in supporting family food security,” said the Mayor of West Jakarta, Iin Mutmainah, quoted from the official DKI provincial government website.

“Direct interaction must be carried out, not always using gadgets. So when there is space for a mother to do something together with her child, it will provide good educational intervention,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chair of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Rany Mauliani, who attended the event, viewed the Kartini Day commemoration as a symbol of strengthening solidarity and women’s roles in both public and domestic spaces.

Women today have broader roles, not only as family companions, but also as drivers in the world of work and society.

“Women who are present in the midst of society, whether housewives or workers in various institutions, must be able to become a home for their children and continue to have a positive impact,” said Rany.

“Women today work not only to help their husbands survive, but as a form of real work,” she added.

The Kartini Day commemoration serves as a momentum to strengthen the roles and collaboration among women to continue providing positive impacts for society, especially in West Jakarta.
