Jakarta (ANTARA) - The South Jakarta Administrative City Government is encouraging women to become the driving force behind the Ruang Bersama Indonesia (RBI) service programme at the city level. “Women’s participation in South Jakarta is a great strength that will become the driving force of RBI,” said Assistant for Government Affairs of South Jakarta, Ahmad Basyarudin, when confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday. He stated that in the South Jakarta area, 66.51 per cent or 276,968 Jakpreneur members are women. Furthermore, on the government side, 61 per cent of Echelon III/JF Madya officials are women, and 20 out of 65 village heads are also women. At the community level, women are active in Family Empowerment and Welfare (PKK) activities, Dasawisma, farming groups, environmental management, as well as women’s and children’s protection through the Pos Sahabat Perempuan dan Anak (Pos SAPA) and Community-Based Integrated Child Protection (PATBM). Meanwhile, vulnerable groups receive attention through Posbindu, elderly schools, and various other inclusive activities. “Therefore, RBI in South Jakarta is being promoted not just as a programme, but as a joint movement with the community,” Ahmad said. As is known, the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA), Arifah Fauzi, is relying on the Ruang Bersama Indonesia (RBI) at the South Jakarta Administrative City level to address problems related to women and children in the area. The establishment of RBI is a follow-up to the 2025 Agreement Note between the Ministry of PPPA and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, as well as the Governor of DKI Jakarta’s Decision Number 334 of 2023. Ten sub-districts serve as the initial points for the equitable distribution of RBI services at the South Jakarta Administrative City level, demonstrating strong readiness and commitment in an even and integrated manner throughout the region.
