Woman's murder suspect found hanging in Serang resident's garden

The thin, long-haired suspect was taken by police from his relative’s house in South Tangerang on Friday, 22 May, at 1:15 AM WIB. The murder suspect was immediately taken to Serang City Police Station for further questioning. Previously, Serang City Police Station’s Reskrim Chief Kompol Alfano Ramadhan stated that police were investigating the case after the victim was found dead hanging on Monday, 18 May, around 5 PM WIB. Officers discovered several wound marks on the body. ‘Based on the crime scene examination and autopsy results, victim BY is suspected to have died unnaturally due to multiple injuries on the body,’ Alfano said. A joint team from Serang City Police Station and Cipocok Jaya Police Station interviewed several witnesses. Additionally, police recovered the victim’s missing mobile phone. Police had been searching for AS, who was not at his residence in Gelam Village, Cipocok Jaya Subdistrict. According to information, AS fled to the jurisdiction of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, specifically in South Tangerang. ‘The suspect was then taken to the Serang City Police Station’s Reskrim office for further questioning,’ he added. AS faces charges under Section 459 in conjunction with Section 458 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) for premeditated murder and/or murder. ‘Currently, investigators from Serang City Police Station’s Reskrim are deepening and further examining the motive and sequence of the criminal act,’ Alfano said.
