Woman wanted for fraud

JAKARTA (JP): A woman identified only as Lili is wanted by
North Jakarta police for her alleged role in cheating dozens of
people in the city of a total of some Rp 50 billion (US$22.3
million).

"We're still in the dark about this woman," North Jakarta
police chief Lt. Col. Edi Darnadi told The Jakarta Post
yesterday.

Edi said that at least three people had made complaints to his
office regarding Lili, claiming that she had cheated them in
diamond transactions.

"A number of people have made similar complaints against Lili
to the National Police headquarters, making the total money
allegedly took about Rp 50 billion," Edi said.

Edi called on the public to assist police with any information
on the suspect. (bsr)
