Woman to be executed soon

SURABAYA: Budiman Sidabuke, the lawyer of a woman on death
row, has disclosed that his client, Astini, 50, would be executed
in the very near future.

"She will be executed within one or two days," said Budiman.

The signs that she would be executed soon were strong as
Astini, who is facing execution for murder and mutilation, had
already submitted her last request to the authorities in Medaeng
Penitentiary in Surabaya.

She asked to be allowed to see her husband Safirin and her
three children, and her request was granted on Wednesday. -- JP
