Woman sought over nude photos
JAKARTA (JP): Malaysian police are looking for a young Indonesian woman believed to be a member of a prostitution racket, after they found explicit photographs of her engaging in sexual acts.
Antara, in a dispatch from Kuala Lumpur, said the wanted woman was 24 years old and hailed from Lampung. She reportedly went to Malaysia last November to work as a domestic servant for a Malaysian family in Ipoh in the state of Perak.
Police are also looking for a man of Indian origin identified as Michel, who is believed to be her panderer and her "partner" in the pornographic photographs.
The pictures are believed to have been used to entice prospective clients.
According to Antara, the case came to light by accident when the young woman went to Kuala Lumpur with Michel recently to try to regain her passport which had reportedly been seized by her employer in Ipoh.
The young woman and Michel reportedly first visited the Indonesian embassy in the Malaysian capital, but were there referred to the Center for the Protection of Indonesian Workers.
The woman reportedly said she was too scared to go back to the house in which she had previously lived for fear of being physically abused.
The center is said to have taken up her case and arranged for her to stay with an Indonesian family in Kuala Lumpur for the time being.
It was that family which, reportedly, found 23 sexually- explicit photographs among the young woman's belongings. She then fled the house, leaving no trace.
According to the results of the Malaysian investigation so far, the young woman is from Cisapat Sukabumi in Lampung and was sent to Malaysia by PT. Citra Arum, a labor supply company based in Jakarta. (rms)
