Woman Mugged in Cisauk, Tangerang, Car Seized After Threat with a Celurit
South Tangerang, Kompas.com - A woman was the victim of a mugging by three men in the Cisauk area, Tangerang Regency, on Monday (18 May 2026).
“The perpetrators have committed violent theft against a woman and stolen a four-wheeled vehicle, namely a car,” said AKP Wira Graha Setiawan, Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Tangerang City Police, in a written statement, Thursday (21 May 2026).
Police have arrested one suspect identified by the initials K at a hotel in the Pagedangan area, Cisauk, Tangerang Regency, on Thursday at 05:00 WIB.
According to Wira, the perpetrators carried out the act using a sharp weapon before subsequently driving away the victim’s car.
“The suspect used a celurit to threaten and endanger the life of the victim. Then the perpetrators took the car and several valuables.”
Currently, the case is being investigated by the Cisauk Police Sector (Polsek Cisauk).
Among 14 criminal cases disclosed by police in the past week, the Cisauk mugging is one of them. Of the 14 cases, in addition to the mugging, there were cases such as motor vehicle theft, aggravated theft, and fibre optic cable theft.
Police also arrested a suspect who specialized in minimarket theft, believed to have acted at five locations in the Pondok Aren and Kelapa Dua areas.
“We are still developing leads to locate further evidence and additional crime scenes,” he said.
The police urged residents to remain vigilant and to report to the 110 service if they are victims or know of any criminal activity.
“We will not hesitate to take decisive and proportionate action if the perpetrators threaten the lives of the public or officers,” Wira said.
