Woman jumps from van

JAKARTA: A woman escaped from two robbers by jumping from a moving minivan on Jl. Zainal Arifin, North Petojo in Gambir, Central Jakarta on Tuesday. She suffered minor head injuries as she landed badly.

In addition to her fall, Ida Aryani, 31, from Duri Pulo, Central Jakarta, was unlucky enough to lose her gold necklace and a ring. After hearing Ida's cry a mob stopped the minivan and set upon the thieves who had threatened her with machetes. One of the suspects managed to get away with the jewelry. The second, 19- year old Yogi Darmadan, was beaten up.

Ida was taken to the Bakti Husada Hospital and Yogi to the Gambir police station. -- JP
