Woman in Viral Dine-and-Dash Case Apprehended Without ID, Jakarta Social Services Struggle to Locate Family
Jakarta – Agus Aripianto, head of the Central Jakarta Social Services (Sudinsos) branch, stated that the woman who went viral for repeatedly leaving restaurants without paying was apprehended without her identity card (KTP) at a fast-food restaurant on Hayam Wuruk Street, Central Jakarta on Thursday, 26 February 2026.
As a result, the Central Jakarta Social Services is facing considerable difficulty tracing her identity and locating her family members.
“We are also struggling, because there is no KTP or identification,” said Agus when contacted on Friday, 27 February 2026.
When apprehended, the woman, known as Nani, was wearing a blue hooded sweater and glasses, and carried a shoulder bag.
According to a video posted on the Instagram account @jabodetabek24info, the woman was taken into custody by Civil Police officers (Satpol PP). In the video, she can be seen apologising.
“I’m sorry, sir, I know I shouldn’t have,” she said whilst bowing and lowering herself to the floor.
The officers asked her to stand up again. However, the woman suddenly said, “Sir, please don’t share this online,” she added.
The officers also complained about the absence of her identification document.
During interrogation, officers requested her cooperation.
Agus revealed that after being apprehended by Satpol PP, the woman was taken to the Kebon Kelapa Village Office, Gambir District. Central Jakarta Social Services staff subsequently collected her from that location.
“So the individual in question was already detained at the village office overnight. We then conducted an initial assessment, and it turned out to be confirmed under the name Nani Sitorus,” said Agus.
Agus explained that Nani was referred to a mental health facility (RSKD) due to indications that her behaviour pointed towards mental health disturbance.
This indication was based on observations by Satpol PP and Social Services personnel at the scene.
