Woman in Nusa Penida Arrested for Stealing Silver Ritual Items Worth IDR 150 Million!
A woman with the initials WDS (24) was arrested by police for allegedly stealing ritual items belonging to a resident in Nusa Penida, Klungkung, Bali. WDS stole silver items worth IDR 150 million, including several ‘bokor’.
“The arrest took place today. Officers secured a suspect, a woman with the initials WDS. After questioning, she admitted to her actions,” said Nusa Penida Police Chief Kompol I Ketut Kesuma Jaya, Sunday (May 17, 2026).
The theft was first discovered by the victim, named I Gede Laksamana Sanjaya, on Friday, May 8th. The victim then reported it to the police after discovering that several silver items in his house were missing.
Upon receiving the report, the Jalak Nusa Team, led by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Nusa Penida Police, Iptu Ida Bagus Ketut Arsa, immediately launched an investigation. After an intensive investigation, police managed to track down WDS.
Officers immediately went to WDS’s residence in Sakti Village, Nusa Penida. At the location, police found all the stolen items that had been stored by WDS. WDS did not resist and was immediately taken to the Nusa Penida Police Station.
The police also secured several pieces of evidence from WDS, including 2 large silver ‘bokor’, 6 small silver ‘bokor’, 1 silver tray (‘dulang’), 1 silver bowl (‘kapar’), and a lid for the silver bowl.
Currently, WDS is being held at the Nusa Penida Police Station to face further legal proceedings. The police are continuing to investigate the case regarding the possibility of other parties being involved.
“We are still investigating the motive and modus operandi of the perpetrator,” Kesuma concluded.
