Woman in Central Java Allegedly Held Captive and Doused with Acid by Police Officer

The Hotman 911 legal team is assisting a woman, identified by the initial M (30), who has reported alleged acts of torture and sexual violence committed by a police officer to the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim Polri). The report was filed on Thursday (2/7) and registered under number LP/B/295/VII/2026/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri. The victim, M, completed her examination at around 19.00 WIB. She was seen being guided in a wheelchair, with burn wounds visible on her hands and feet. The victim’s attorney from Tim Hotman 911, Raden Reza, stated that the report includes several alleged criminal acts by a police officer against his client. “We from the Hotman 911 team have filed a police report regarding several alleged criminal acts committed by a law enforcement officer,” he told reporters at Bareskrim Polri. Reza mentioned that the victim underwent an initial examination at Bareskrim, answering around 20 questions about the chronology of events. Afterwards, the victim was immediately taken for a post-mortem examination at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital. “There were about 20 questions for her, from half past one until seven. And now we are proceeding to conduct the visum et repertum at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital,” he explained. He detailed that the case began in 2023 in the Central Java region. Over three years of abuse, the victim allegedly endured prolonged physical and psychological violence. “In short, the victim was introduced to this individual, and from the beginning, she was force-fed methamphetamine-type narcotics,” he said. “Throughout that time, the victim was also abused, held captive, threatened, and subjected to deviant sexual acts, which we need not specify as they are immoral; there were many instances,” he continued. Raden stated that the victim was also forced by the perpetrator to prepare methamphetamine. He noted that the peak of the violence occurred in September 2025, when the victim suffered serious burn injuries after allegedly being doused with a liquid believed to be acid. “The most recent and most severe incident was in September 2025. That was the worst,” he said. The victim was taken to hospital by the alleged perpetrator, but the perpetrator subsequently abandoned her there. “The victim was taken to the hospital, but the alleged perpetrator was irresponsible and just left her there,” he said. Raden added that the perpetrator allegedly attempted to cover up the actual incident by providing false information about the cause of the victim’s injuries, claiming they were caused by a gas cylinder explosion. “To conceal his crime of dousing the victim with acid, the perpetrator lied, saying she was hit by a gas cylinder,” he stated. The victim has now been secured in a safe house by the Hotman 911 team, who have also changed her phone number to prevent further intimidation. “This is the first time I personally picked up the victim using an ambulance, and our Hotman 911 team has secured the victim in a safe house. Her mobile phone number has also been changed,” Reza said. Reza noted that the victim had previously been too afraid to report the crimes due to severe psychological pressure and intimidation from the alleged perpetrator, including threats to disseminate CCTV recordings of an immoral nature. “The victim was not physically locked up, but there was a lot of intimidation and threats to spread immoral CCTV footage. That’s what prevented the victim from taking action for approximately two years,” he said. He added that the victim suffered serious burns covering 47 percent of the left side of her body. Reza confirmed that the alleged perpetrator is an active member of the Indonesian National Police serving on the island of Java, though the officer’s full identity has not been disclosed as the legal process is ongoing. “Yes, still active. I just received word that he has also been detained, so appreciation goes to the National Police,” he said.
