The West Java Regional Police are investigating the alleged confinement of a woman with the initials YTT (29), who was reported to have suffered severe injuries after allegedly being kidnapped and tortured by a man for approximately three years in Bandung Regency. West Java Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, stated that the case was reported to the West Java Police by the victim’s sibling on 12 June 2026, under police report number LP/B/1145/VI/2026/SPKT/POLDA JAWA BARAT. “The victim is suspected of having been abused by a man with the initials TH,” Hendra said in a statement received in Bandung on Wednesday, 17 June 2026. Hendra explained that the case came to light after the complainant received a message via WhatsApp from an unknown person informing them that the victim was in the Emergency Department of Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung. Upon receiving this information, the family immediately went to the hospital and found the victim with a number of serious injuries. “After that, the complainant went to RSHS and discovered that the victim was in a state of severe injury to the head, face, and legs, and minor injuries to the hands,” he said. Hendra revealed that before being found at the hospital, the victim’s whereabouts had been unknown to her family for approximately three years. “Previously, the victim had disappeared, there was no news and her whereabouts were unknown for about three years,” he stated. According to him, during that period, the victim was suspected of having been subjected to repeated abuse by the reported perpetrator using his hands, blunt objects, and sharp weapons. “It is suspected that during that time, the victim received abusive treatment from the reported perpetrator using hands, blunt objects, and sharp weapons, and the victim’s valuables went missing,” he said. As a result of the alleged abuse, the victim sustained a number of severe injuries that have impacted her physical condition. “The victim suffered severe injuries, including being unable to see normally, a cleft lip, difficulty speaking, inability to walk, and material losses of approximately Rp52 million,” Hendra stated.
