Woman in Bandung Allegedly Held Captive and Tortured by Boyfriend for 3 Years in Boarding House

A woman with the initials YTT (29), originally from Antapani, Bandung City, and residing in the Rancaekek District, Bandung Regency, is alleged to have been a victim of confinement and physical abuse perpetrated by her own partner. YTT was reportedly missing for more than three years.

According to reports, YTT has sustained severe injuries that have impaired her ability to see, speak, and walk. She was allegedly assaulted by her partner, TH, at his boarding house in the Cileunyi area, Bandung Regency, recently.

The family reported the case to the West Java Regional Police on Friday, 12 June 2026. The Head of Public Relations for the West Java Regional Police, Kombes Hendra Rochmawan, confirmed the existence of the report.

Hendra explained that the case came to light after the complainant received information via WhatsApp from an unknown individual stating that the victim was in the Emergency Department of the Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung.

“Following that, the complainant went to RSHS and discovered that the victim was in a state of severe injury to her head, face, and legs, as well as minor injuries to her hands,” said Hendra on Tuesday (16/6/2026).

Before being found, the family had long been unaware of the victim’s whereabouts. According to Hendra, the victim was even believed to have disappeared for approximately three years.

“Previously, the victim disappeared without news and her whereabouts were unknown for about 3 years,” he stated.

Police suspect that during that period, the victim repeatedly endured physical abuse inflicted by the perpetrator using various methods, ranging from bare hands and blunt objects to sharp weapons. Additionally, several of the victim’s valuable belongings were reported missing.

“It is suspected that during that timeframe, she suffered physical abuse from the reported individual using hands, blunt objects, and sharp weapons, and the victim’s valuables were also lost,” he explained.

As a result of the incident, the victim has sustained several severe injuries that impact her daily activities. Her physical condition is reported to have declined significantly, including impaired vision, difficulty speaking, and an inability to walk.
